Naseej Academy Launches Webinar Entitled “Measuring Library Service Quality: How the academic libraries do it efficiently and effectively”

difficult challenge for any library is to identify users’ satisfaction with its information services and resources, and then to quantify this satisfaction in the form of accurate and useful numbers and statistics.

For their part, beneficiaries want to see that library services are proactive, user-centered and oriented to meeting their needs. The use by libraries of a standard tool that monitors, measures and evaluates the services they provide thus enhances their efforts to improve the quality of those services.

In this context, Naseej Academy is organizing a webinar entitled “Measuring Library Service Quality: How the academic libraries do it efficiently and effectively” to be held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, 4:00–5:00 p.m., Makkah time (GMT+3).

The webinar targets academic librarians, stakeholders with a particular interest in service quality, and stakeholders with a particular interest in how libraries are transforming their operations.

The webinar is moderated by Dr. Martha Kyrillidou, founder and CEO of Quality Metrics LLC. Dr. Kyrillidou has an MLS and M.Ed. from Kent State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
She has co-developed and established LibQUAL+ as the premier survey tool for measuring library service quality across the globe.

The workshop reviews the methods and mechanisms academic libraries use to measure and evaluate the quality of the services they provide, as well as the experiences of the beneficiaries community.

The webinar will introduce the theory of service quality and discuss the results achieved through the widespread application of LibQUAL+.

The objectives of the webinar are to answer the following questions:
  • How can organizations measure library service quality?
  • How can libraries quantify user satisfaction?
  • What are the dimensions of LibQUAL+ and how can it be applied?
  • What changes have libraries implemented, based on their customer survey results?
