Webinar Overview

By the end of this webinar, participants will have:
  • been introduced to the basic copyright rules (and exceptions for libraries) as set out in the Berne Convention;  
  • be able to differentiate between “copyright” and “intellectual property”; 
  • examined a series of case studies presenting different copyright issues that arise in an academic library setting in the digital age; and
  • understood useful solutions to those copyright issues. 



Webinar Objectives

The objectives of this webinar are to enable participants to:
  • understand basic copyright rules vs. intellectual property;
  • understand copyright exceptions for libraries; and
  • work within the copyright rules to help patrons to access library materials, both printed and digital.
