Naseej Academy Conducts Successful Knowledge Café entitled “Transformation: From Information Centers to Knowledge Centers”

Naseej Academy conducted a successful knowledge café entitled "Transformation: From Information Centers to Knowledge Centers" on November 17, 2019, held at the Burj Rafal Hotel, Riyadh, KSA, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The knowledge café provided a unique opportunity to highlight the challenges faced by information centers in the government and corporate sectors in KSA, and options for addressing those challenges, including solutions based on successful case studies and global best practices.

The café was attended by executives and heads of several government institutions and ministries, including, but not limited to: Ministry of Commerce and Investment, Ministry of Health, The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), The Real Estate General Authority, National Center for Assessment in Higher Education (Qiyas), Ministry of Finance, Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF), Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), and The Center for Strategic Studies at the Ministry of the Economy.

The meeting was moderated by Scott Leeb, a senior consultant with Iknow, a leading international consulting firm specializing in knowledge management. Mr. Leeb has responsibility for the firm's Big Data and Analytics practice, whose clients have included US and foreign governments. Mr. Leeb's experience stems from his having led the knowledge management/business intelligence functions of four Fortune 500 companies and a leading international philanthropic organization. His areas of expertise include data visualization, statistical and quantitative analysis, and data mining.

Mr. Leeb has spoken in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and North and South America on a wide range of topics, including big data, business intelligence, market intelligence, and strategic and knowledge management. He began his career as a senior intelligence analyst for the US Army, specializing in East Asian political–military affairs. He holds MAs from the Australian National University and Columbia University, a BA from Yale University and a language certificate from Beijing University.

Naseej Academy envisages that its knowledge cafés will open a dialogue window through knowledge exchange and respect for diversity of opinions, by creating an atmosphere conducive to in-depth, open discussion and an exchange of views between all participants, with adequate analysis of the issues raised.
