Overview

I​n collaboration with Deanship of Library Affairs at King Abdulaziz University, Naseej Academy has organized and on Webinar entitled: ”Emerging Technologies and Their Impact on Libraries: Concept, Main Challenges and Difficulties”, on Monday Muharram 12, 1442 A.H. correspondent to August 31, 2020, from 08:80 AM to 10:30 AM Makkah time(GMT+3). 

The Webinar was moderated by the Vice-dean of Library Affairs, professor of telecommunication engineering at KAU Dr. Ghassan Rashed Alnwaimi, pointing out that emerging technologies offer new opportunities where some of these technologies could very shortly fall under ‘Disruptive Technologies”. As well, they offer alternative solutions for several issues and challenges facing libraries of different categories. This, in turn, would pose a radical shift in both economy and industry.

Dr. Ghassan Alnwaimi 

Dr. Ghassan is Vice-dean of Library Affairs and assistant professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at King Abdulaziz University.  Dr. Alnwaimi is also the Vice-President of the IEEE’s Technology and Engineering Management Society TEMS. He is specialized in Artificial Intelligence and its applications in Telecommunications, a researcher in teaching and learning technologies, a founder of several initiatives and digital platforms, a member of different associations and committees, author of published papers articles and a peer-reviewer at a number of academic journals.
