 Naseej Academy signed a cooperation agreement with King Saud University

In line with Naseej Academy's initiatives to strengthen its relationships with universities and institutions working in the field of libraries and information and knowledge management, the Academy signed a cooperation agreement with King Saud University on June 30, 2019.  

Under the agreement, Naseej Academy and the Faculty of Arts’ Department of Information Science will cooperate in the field of storing and retrieving information, designing and analyzing information systems, and supporting and developing leaders in the knowledge and academic sectors, in addition to supporting the department’s post-graduate programs.

Engineer Abdullah Al-Turaifi, Co-founder and Executive Vice President of Naseej, signed the agreement on behalf of Naseej Academy. HE Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Humizi, King Saud University’s Vice-Dean for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, signed on behalf of HE Dr. Badran A. Al-Omar, Rector of King Saud University.

At the signing ceremony, Prince Naif bin Thunayan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, commented that cooperation between the University and the private sector in support of scientific research and higher studies conforms with the provisions of Saudi Vision 2030.

In addition, both sides applauded the efforts made in reaching a final memorandum of understanding that could be implemented in a practical and effective manner.

Dr. Jibril bin Hassan Arishi, Head of the Department of Information Science, said: "In cooperation with Naseej Academy, the University will be able to establish and implement innovative activities and programs in the knowledge sector.”

Professor Abdallah Hussein Metwally, General Supervisor of Naseej Academy, expressed his great pleasure in signing the cooperation agreement with one of the top universities in Saudi Arabia. He stressed the interest of the Academy in investing its expertise and knowledge in the development of capacities and proposed areas of research in keeping with the latest developments in the field of libraries and information and knowledge management.

The ceremony was also attended by the Assistant Undersecretary of King Saud University for Industrial and Business Relations, HE Dr. Adeeb bin Abdullah Al-Khalil, and by a number of agents of the Faculty of Arts, department heads and faculty members.
