 Prof. Dr. Khaled Fargoun Leads “Security and privacy aspects of the Internet of Things (IoT) for libraries” Workshop

​​​​Abu Dhabi, UAE, March 3–4, 2019

Naseej Academy, in collaboration with the Special Libraries Association – Arabian Gulf Chapter (SLA–AGC), is pleased to announce that Dr. Khaled Mohamed Fargoun, Professor of Educational Technology at Helwan University, Egypt, will lead a workshop entitled "Security and Privacy Aspects of the Internet of Things (IOT) for Libraries".


The workshop will be held on March 3–4, 2019, at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Abu Dhabi, UAE, and will precede the SLA–AGC's 25th Annual Conference & Exhibition.


The workshop will address the information security and privacy implications of modern library technologies such as the Internet of Things and supportive technologies.

 

Workshop participants will also gain a general understanding of investment in, and use of, IoT by libraries; and the role and use of brain–computer interface (BCI) technology in providing library services for people with special needs.

About Prof. Dr. Khaled Mohamed Fargoun

  • Professor of Educational Technology, Faculty of Education, Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt.
  • Former Dean and Vice Dean for Student Affairs of the Fac​ulty of Education, Helwan University.
  • Professor Fargoun has a Master's Degree and Professional Doctorate in Information and Education Technology from the University of Köln, Germany. He has also conducted considerable research and moderated many workshops on the use of modern learning resources in education, including: connecting BCI technology to the Internet of Things; computerization of contextual awareness and the use of ambient intelligence; virtualized learning through cloud computing; emerging technology and knowledge society; accelerated learning and smart surfaces; the use of HoloLens technology to support learning environments; and the use of Haptic-Optical Clone Technology in educational Augmented Reality.
