​​Prof. Dr. Abdallah Hussein Metwally, General Supervisor of Naseej Academy, presented a specialized lecture on December 3, 2018, at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University entitled "Recent Trends in Marketing Information Services: QR Codes as a model".

The event was at the invitation of the Deanship of Library Affairs and the Library and Information Department of the Faculty of Arts, PNU.

The lecture covered a number of important topics, including: the concept of the university library marketing itself, and how to do it for university library information, and its services.

Prof. Dr. Abdallah then described the structure and nature of Quick Response, or Quick Reading (QR) code, and demonstrated through case studies and a micro practical-training workshop, the applications of QR code in university libraries and its library website.

Participating faculty members, librarians and students expressed their satisfaction with the workshop, which they indicated provided a valuable opportunity to learn more about the capabilities of QR code and its potential for marketing library services.

Prof. Dr. Abdallah thanked the university's top management representatives (rector, dean of librarianship affairs, and head of library and information department) for the invitation, and cooperation, and also thanked the rest of lecture attendees (faculty members, librarians / information specialists, and graduates / postgraduates students) of their interactive participation, and finally he expressed his confidence in the value of further cooperation in the future.
