Workshop Objectives

By the end of the workshop, participants will:
  • ​​know their top three personal and professional strengths as a leader, and how to use them to best effect in their leadership
  • know their three most significant leadership blind spots, and have strategies in place to develop their performance in those areas 
  • have a clear idea of their top three “must win” professional strategic priorities with respect to their academic library
  • have a clear roadmap for building a high-performing team within their  academic library.​

  • A strategic leader in the higher education and research sectors for over 25 years.
  • Previous roles include: University Librarian & Director of the John Rylands Library, University of Manchester, England; Head of Higher Education at the British Library in London; University Librarian, University of Leeds; Deputy Librarian, London School of Economics, England.
  • Programme Director for Liber (Association of European Research Libraries).​

Roger Fielding BSc, PGCE, MEd, MPhil, MBA, CPCC, PCC

  • Leadership Consultant for more than 20 years, working in Europe, the Middle East and North America.
  • One of 243 coaches in the UK conferred by the ICF (International Coach Federation) with the prestigious status of PCC (Professional Certified Coach).
  • Course tutor, Undergraduate Certificate in Coaching, Cambridge University, England.
