 The Winner of Naseej Academy Grant to Attend 2018 IFLA Annual Conference Announced

Naseej Academy, in cooperation with the IFLA Center for Arabic Speaking Libraries (IFLA-CASL), has announced the winner of its grant to attend the 2018 IFLA Annual Conference, to be held August 24–30 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

Ms. Elham Mohamed Tawfik Abied, Deputy Librarian for Academic Services/ British University in Egypt, was named the winner of the award, which is granted each year to a librarian/information specialist from the Arab world.

The priority for winner selection is awarded to those who provide scientific research and play a positive role in the conference.
A specialized joint committee of judges from Naseej Academy and IFLA-CASL selected the winner, who is required to prepare a professional report on her return back from the conference. 

The report must document her participation in the various events, indicate how she benefited from the opportunity to participate, and describe how she intend to incorporate the experience in her work.

Mr. Abduljabbar Al Abduljabbar, Naseej CEO, emphasized the importance of the award in motivating and encouraging knowledge and information professionals in the Middle East, “Fostering knowledge develo​pment and sharing is a key objective of our social initiatives, whereby we focus on the people who are working in knowledge and information fields, helping them to contribute to transforming their societies into knowledge economies” 

Professor Dr. Abdullah Metwally, Supervisor of the Naseej Academy, explained that, the process of selecting the grant winner is based on assessment of a number of criteria, which are carried out by members of a specialized arbitration committee who review, and objectively evaluate, all the applications, along with supporting documents and CVs, before determining the final result..
